Your adventure begins when you arrive at Hank’s Ranch in West Norfolk. Choose your cabin — The Jail, The General Store or The Church — and settle into your own corner of our Wild West town.

Each cabin sleeps two adults and has been individually designed with authentic frontier-inspired details, a king-size bed, en-suite facilities and its own outdoor space. Take your time unpacking, explore the Ranch and make yourself a coffee from your welcome hamper.

Then do something wonderfully simple.

Explore the Ranch

Spend your first afternoon discovering the Ranch. Wander through the grounds, explore the Wild West details, try your hand at some of the outdoor games or simply sit back and enjoy the countryside around you. Every cabin has its own fire pit, making it easy to settle into the evening outdoors.

Evening: Cowboy Stew & Campfire

Why not make your first dinner part of the experience? Our Cowboy Stew can be enjoyed around your own fire pit, creating the perfect first evening at the Ranch. Once dinner is finished, light the fire, toast marshmallows and settle down beneath the Norfolk sky. It’s a simple kind of evening.

Firelight, fresh air, good company, and no need to rush anywhere.

Day Two: Western Shopping & American Dining

Morning: Take It Slow

One of the best things about a stay at Hank’s Ranch is that you don’t need to fill every minute. Wake up in your Wild West cabin, make some coffee and enjoy your morning on the stoop. If you’re bringing your dog, this is also a great time to explore some of the local countryside before heading out for the day.

Then it’s time to hit the trail.

Fen & Frontier, Ely

Head towards Ely and visit Fen & Frontier, a Western-inspired outlet that’s perfect for browsing clothing, accessories and items with a distinctly frontier feel. It’s a great addition to a Wild West-themed break and you might even find something to take home from your adventure.

Klobber & Western World, Great Yarmouth

Alternatively, head towards Great Yarmouth and visit Klobber & Western World. Combine your Western shopping with time exploring the Great Yarmouth seafront before making your way back towards West Norfolk.

Afternoon: Back to the Ranch

After your expedition, return to Hank’s Ranch and slow things down again. Sit on the rocking chair outside your cabin. Enjoy the meadow, read a book or simply do absolutely nothing. That’s part of the Hank’s Ranch experience.

Dinner: Arbuckles American Diner

For dinner, continue the American theme with a visit to Arbuckles American Diner in Downham Market. With its American-style menu and diner atmosphere, it’s a natural choice for a Wild West-inspired weekend and gives you another taste of Americana during your stay in Norfolk. After dinner, head back to the Ranch for your second evening.

Evening: Lou’s Saloon

Welcome to Lou’s Saloon, no Wild West weekend at Hank’s Ranch would be complete without spending some time in Lou’s Saloon. Our Wild West saloon is at the heart of the Ranch experience, giving guests somewhere to relax, play games and enjoy the atmosphere of our frontier town. Pull up a chair, challenge your partner to a game of cards, try your hand at shove ha’penny. Enjoy the 1850s Saloon surroundings and take your time. There are no screens and no need to rush.

The Saloon is part of the experience and because you’re staying at Hank’s Ranch, your cabin is only a short stroll away when you’re ready to call it a night.

The Bath House Experience
Wood-Fired Bathing Under the Stars

For the ultimate way to finish your second night, book the Hank’s Ranch wood-fired Bath House. This isn’t an ordinary hot tub. The Bath House is another part of our Wild West town, designed to give you an immersive experience inspired by frontier life. Light the fire and allow the water to slowly heat before stepping into the warm, wood-fired bath beneath the open sky. After a day exploring Norfolk, Western shopping and enjoying the Saloon, it’s the perfect way to relax.

Warm water, cool evening air, firelight, and the Norfolk countryside around you.

If you don’t book the Bath House, you can simply return to your cabin and enjoy another evening around the fire.

Day Three: One Last Morning

Don’t Be in a Hurry, your final morning at Hank’s Ranch is all about taking your time. Make one last coffee, sit on the stoop, enjoy the quiet. Take one last look around your cabin before packing up. You might leave with photographs, a new Western treasure from your shopping trip or the smell of wood smoke on your clothes. But hopefully you’ll leave with something more important.
